Description of photos starting from top row and left to right:

(1) Photo given to me by my cousin (D'Elia side) Paulo Cesar Papa of Brazil.  House built by my grandfather (Pasquale D'Elia and several of his brothers (Giovanni was one of them) called the Carusi and it was located in the Commune of Paola (just on the opposite side of the river LaPonte from Cotugni)  on land inherited from their mother, Concetta Mantuano who was from Paola.  One third of the house was probably already there when the D'Elia brothers made their additions around 1886.  One of my dad's sisters, Filomena, was born in the Carusi.

(2) Paulo Papa can tell us if any of Giovanni's children were born there.

(3)  Giovanni D'Elia (in bersaglieri uniform):  My grandfather's brother, and Paulo Papa's great grandfather.
