Giovanni Giglio[3] (born in 1840 and died in 1911) married Luisa Cavaliere around 1860. They were both born in and lived in Scarcelli, a frazione of Fuscaldo (CS). The Giglio family lived in the so-called “case rose or red houses” and their children were:
[1] Pasquale was the father of Giovanni Giglio and born ca. 1820.
[2] Giuseppe was the father of Luisa Cavaliere and born ca 1820.
[3] Giovanni had at least two brothers. Their names were Giacomo and Luigi. Luigi lived in the Sant’Antonio area of Scarcelli.
[4] b. ca. 1861/ d. 1939; married Battista Scofano; their children were Pasqualina, Concetta and Filomena. Filomena married Salvatore Siciliano and their children were Giovanni of Brazil whom I met in Calabria with his son and grandson in 1968 along with my dad and son, John. Giovanni had a brother Francesco (I believe married Carmelo Santoro’s sister) and Gennio from Cariglio.
[5] Rosina (b. 1862/ d. 2 July 1939) married Pasquale D’Elia, my paternal grandfather in 1883. Daniela Louise (b. 20 September 1993), my youngest daughter, was named after Rosina’s mother, Luisa Cavaliere.
[6] Married sister of Domenico Plastina.
[7] Angelo married Anna Maria Lanzilotta from the Marina di Fuscaldo. I met her in 1968 with my parents and son, John. Anna was an older sister of Giuseppina, my dad’s brother Antonio’s wife.
